The Hypnic Chain
The Hypnic Chain is a “dream emulator” based on imagery, situations, and environments that have been known to haunt my dreams.
Inspired by LSD: Dream Emulator, its successor Yume Nikki, and the extended family of RPG Maker horror.
The current version of THC is a demo build in web format created for LSD Jam. There are still a whole lot of placeholder sounds and such that I'd like to replace with bespoke assets if I can find time in the future, and I'd love to do more with the narrative, such as it is. Follow on itch or elsewhere for updates about an expanded demo!
Features
- 3D: made in RPG Maker MV using the exquisite MV3D Plugin by Cutievirus
- EXPLORE: traverse different maps by walking, jumping, and dashing
- EVADE: battle is futile; strike first or be struck down — but beware, not everything can be erased…
- ENTITIES: some are helpful, others hostile

bruh im sorry.
i was gonna make a video on your game but it just bugs out and doesnt let me pass through the last portal, when i restart the in game clock is 2x speed, and ofcourse if i click in the window it gives an error where i need to restart the whole game.
otherwise i liked the atmosphere.
No worries, thanks for checking out the game and letting me know! I'll look into this for sure. Did this happen with the last portal in the Nexus (before entering the Abandoned Lab), or the ending portal that leads out of the Distorted Nexus?
im not sure about the name of the map, look what happened:
I collected the fragmented dreams then went to that castle which is opposite the yellow robed mthfcka. I enter the portal ( the yellow mthfcka asks if im sure i wanna continue) then i get teleported to some fountains and another portal, i cant get into the second portal. I also cant use any of the items.
I appreciate the extra info a ton; you've helped me fix a major issue. A new build is uploading now that will un-bug that door. Thanks again!
Made me wanna throw up in a good way. 10/10, loved it dearly :-) Disorienting and eyestraining as any good eerie, yet nostalgic dream should be. equally haunting as it is comforting. Can't wait to see more :-3 <3
